American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Labor & Delivery/OB position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and an active MN RN license.
Details- Work in the OB unit of a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) acute care setting
- Care for patients in OB triage, labor & delivery, postpartum, well-newborn, special care nursery, and GYN surgical populations
- 12-bed unit with 2 triage rooms, 5 LDRP rooms, and 5 overflow postpartum/GYN surgical beds
- Nurse to patient ratios include 1:2-3 mom/baby couplets, 1:2 early labor, 1:1 active labor, and 1:3 post-op
- Uses EPIC EMR, OBIX central fetal monitoring system, and Acudose medication dispensing cabinet
- Night shift schedule with 8 or 12-hour shifts,
- Weekend commitment required, 2 out of 3 weekends (Fri/Sat/Sun 7a-730p or 7p-730a)
- May float to General Medical unit when OB census is low
- Minimum of 2 OB-trained staff in house at all times
- Active MN RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, including fetal monitor strip interpretation and attendance at vaginal deliveries with newborn resuscitation
- Must be skilled in Labor, Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care (Level 1 and Level 2 nursery)
- BSN not required for this position
- Provide comprehensive nursing care across OB triage, L&D, postpartum, well-newborn, special care nursery, and GYN surgical patients
- Perform IV therapy, antibiotic administration, and short-term respiratory support (CPAP or O2) for newborns as needed
- Orientation includes a new hire safety program checklist, emergency management case review, equipment competency skills, and One Chart training over 2-3 days depending on experience
- Hospital-provided navy blue scrubs required
- Badge in and out required at the facility
- Local candidates within 80 miles may be considered depending on unit needs
- Previous Sanford Health employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
