Van Truck Driver

Description

Summary:

Transport packaged feed and feed ingredients as scheduled by supervisor.

• Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
• Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.
• Deliver feed and pick up feed ingredients according to supervisor’s instructions.
• Comply with FDA Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP and New Vision’s feed production policies and procedures.
• Inform supervisor of delivery problems.
• Comply with all traffic laws and operate all equipment in a safe manner.
• Do routine maintenance and repair on transportation equipment.
• Keep transportation equipment in compliance with MNDOT regulations.
• Read and follow company employee policies.
• Accept additional responsibilities as directed by the supervisor.
• Communicate feed quality or quantity concerns with supervisor.
• Communicate feed ingredient quality or quantity concerns with origin and destination personnel.
• Communicate safety, equipment, operational or maintenance concerns to supervisor.
• Communicate customer suggestions or comments to supervisor.
• Long Haul Occasionally one to two nights a week

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Experience driving semi truck preferred.
• Class A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with health card certification and acceptable MVR.
• Ability to drive van trailer, hopper trailer, or auger trailer.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

• Occasionally required to sit: climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds and routinely lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
