English Teacher (OH) - Leave Cover (3/3/25-5/23/25)

COMPENSATION: $125 per day for the first ten (10) days of the assignment; then $150 per day for the remainder of the assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Qualified applicant must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Substitute Teacher License registered in Grundy-Kendall County (Region 24).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Team player.
  • Strong communication, both oral and written.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Teacher leads students towards the fulfillment of their potential by translating district curriculum goals and objectives into learning experiences that will contribute to the development of skills necessary for becoming a mature and responsible individual.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively plan and prepare for lessons, including knowledge of content and pedagogy, applying knowledge of students’ backgrounds, and designing coherent instruction.
  • Establishes a learning environment that functions effectively, creating respect and rapport, managing classroom procedures, and organizing physical space.
  • Demonstrates effective instruction by engaging students in their learning through clear communication, high-quality questioning, and appropriate assessment techniques.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to high ethical and professional standards and seeks to improve professional practice through reflection and communication with families.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective teaching and learning.
  • UNION MEMBERSHIP: This position is represented by the Oswego Education Association (OEA).
