ResponsibilitiesThe Relationship Manager will handle multi‑faceted relationships by calling on prospective and existing clients to generate loans, deposits, and fees for a geographic area. You will determine credit eligibility, prepare loan narratives, ensure loans meet appropriate criteria, and effectively cross‑sell a wide variety of products.
Your responsibilities include:
- Marketing products and services, including preparing for client calls, making sales calls, and follow‑up.
- Monitoring and enhancing profitability on all assigned relationships.
- Participating in the achievement of corporate sales and service goals to build customer relationships and enhance shareholder value.
- Developing new and expanding existing client relationships through business development activities, reviewing and analyzing clients’ changing financial needs, and promoting products and services.
- Aggressively growing and maintaining a profitable book of business (loans and deposits) to achieve individual and market goals.
- Deepening current, profitable client relationships through analysis of personal and financial data.
- Qualifying prospects by collecting and analyzing financial data to determine credit worthiness and loan merits.
- Preparing or overseeing the completion of the loan approval form and underwriting loans to meet borrower and bank needs.
- Obtaining appropriate approval for credit and negotiating terms, including pricing, fees, costs, repayment method, schedule, and collateral requirements.
- Managing credit quality for past‑due, non‑performing, and credit exceptions in your active portfolio.
- Representing First Financial Bank in community, civic, and professional organizations.
- Monitoring borrower performance over the life of the loan and identifying developing problems.
- Assisting in strategies to return troubled credits to a pass rating or exit strategy, and referring loans to the loan committee for approval.
- Promoting and cross‑selling other establishment products and services as appropriate.
- Handling loan relationships with aggregate exposure between $4M and $15M and portfolios between $25M and $75M.
- 5+ years of relationship/account management experience selling banking products in the appropriate segmentation.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Well‑developed analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience generating new business through a consultative sales approach.
- Demonstrated sales and negotiating experience.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups in managing customer relationships.
- Undergraduate degree required;
Accounting or Finance preferred. - Credit training, credit quality, and underwriting fundamentals experience, including financial analysis.
- Pay Range: $120,000/year to $165,000/year.
