Position Summary
The REGISTERED NURSE (RN) provides care to residents, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. Reports to the Director of Nursing (DON).

Associate’s Degree (two-year college or technical school)
Certificates and Licenses- Nursing diploma, AS or BS degree in nursing
- Current registration/license in Ohio
- CPR certification (must be obtained upon hire or during orientation; remain current during employment)
- Knowledge of nursing practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines in long-term care
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Leadership skills and ability to supervise staff
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret nursing programs and policies
- Understanding of company policies, including harassment and complaint procedures
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, understanding)
- Competence in delivering basic nursing care
- Ability to assess residents’ needs and revise care plans accordingly
- Provide clinical supervision to LPNs and CNAs
- Accurate and timely charting
- Dependable attendance
- Good judgment and reasoning skills
- Effective communication within an interdisciplinary team
- Monitoring, recording, and reporting resident symptoms and changes
- Maintaining detailed reports and records
- Interpreting diagnostic tests and adjusting treatment plans
- Collaborating with healthcare team members on care plans
- Monitoring all aspects of resident care, including diet and activity
- Educating residents and families on health topics and developing health programs
- Preparing residents for examinations and treatments
- Maintaining sterile instruments, supplies, and assisting in evacuations
