General Summary
The welder is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and equipment using welding, cutting, shaping and measuring tools.
Job Accountabilities- Perform welding operations on pipe, vessels, structural skids and other equipment.
- Ability to weld both CS and SS piping.
- Layout, cut, fit and otherwise prepare material for welding.
- Fabricate material from piping schematics and other drawings, working from blueprints, sketches or verbal instructions.
- Operate oxy-acetylene torch to cut, braze, weld and solder.
- Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed.
- Perform quality detailing work, grinding, polishing, etc.
- Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns, performing all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Complete all appropriate documentation and paperwork.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Welding certifications a plus, but not required.
- Minimum 2 years experience in pipeline construction and welding procedures.
- Prior experience with drilling, welding casing.
- Experience in Stick, Wire Feed, TIG welding.
- Experience with conceptualizing and designing for fabrication.
- Forklift certification.
- Ability to routinely lift heavy equipment up to 75 pounds.
- Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
- Visualize flat drawings, pictures, and blueprints as solid objects with height, width, and depth.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Promote safety culture within the company by working within established safety policies.
- Willingness to perform a variety of tasks as needed to promote completion of work, including assisting on other projects.
- Ability to use small hand tools and perform tasks requiring reach with hands and arms.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate small hand tools, frequently reach with hands and arms, and frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 100 lbs.
