Radcliffe Fire Protection Ltd was formed in 2007 by Mike Radcliffe, one of current Directors and started with fire risk assessments only, until 2010 when his son Charlie joined the business as a fire safety engineer, predominantly carrying out fire extinguisher maintenance. Fast forward to current times and we now employ five additional engineers and four office staff, and carry out a range of fire safety and security services, providing our customers with a full fire safety and security package, keeping all their services under one umbrella.

We carry out the following services:
Fire Risk Assessments, installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, intruder alarm systems, access control systems, CCTV systems and emergency lighting.

We cover most of the South West –

We are BAFE SP203-1 accredited in fire alarm design, installation, commissioning and maintenance. We are Safe Contractor and PQS approved.

Job Description

As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain and fault-find on the following systems:

  • Access Control
  • Video Surveillance
  • Intruder Alarms
  • Fire Alarms
Entry Requirements
  • Driving License required
  • Maths & English Required
  • Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check
  • Applicants from the Melksham area desirable
Training to be Provided

This is where you'll learn the skills that employers actually want.

Your apprenticeship training is delivered by Skills for Security, specialists in fire and security training.

You’ll train through block release at our Bristol centre, for one week every eight weeks (Tuesday–Friday).

You’ll work towards a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship, gaining real skills and a nationally recognised qualification.

What you’ll do as part of the programme:

  • Train hands-on with real systems
  • Learn from industry experts
  • Complete a wide range of tasks and projects
  • Build evidence from your job to support your learning
  • Sit annual assessments at the centre
