The Glennallen Trial Court of the Alaska Court System (ACS) is seeking a dynamic, motivated professional to join our team as a Clerk of Court (salary range 12). This key role leads and oversees clerical operations in the Glennallen Court while also providing essential backup and remote support to the Cordova and Valdez courts. Trial Court Case Management and Support

This position will provide professional technical support, leadership, and supervision of the various functions of the clerk's office, including processing of all criminal, civil, small claims, minor offense, probate and children's cases. You will assure efficient case flow management, integrity of court records, files, and accounts, effective jury management, in‑court procedures, accurate warrant procedure, and collection and disbursement of fines, restitution, and other funds.

You will review statutes, rules, bills, codes, policies, and procedures and apply them as required, coordinating closely with the Valdez and Cordova courts to ensure coverage of all essential operations and calendars and occasionally assisting other Third District rural courts.

Accounting / Bookkeeping

Balance the cash ledger and journal for the court's trust fund, make deposits, report quarterly and monthly to Fiscal Operations, issue checks, and ensure timely distribution of monies. Pick up mail from the post office and make bank deposits using personal vehicle (reimbursement for mileage provided).

External Public Relations and Special Assignments

Receive and respond to complaints from the public, parties, attorneys, judges, and others about the Glennallen Trial Court. Conduct investigations as necessary to resolve problems, and with the judge, serve as liaison for the court with local public agencies and a variety of organizations on issues of mutual concern.

Facility and Materials Management

Operate, troubleshoot, and update computer systems and records, ensure data is entered correctly, and work with information services on all technology‑related matters.

The Work Hours

This position is scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one‑hour lunch break.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate and one year of general clerical, office or retail work experience OR completion of 36 semester credit hours or 48 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college.
  • Experience in court clerical duties, bookkeeping, or related administrative roles.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills.
