RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Must have current Alaska nursing license prior to assignment

• Must have flu vaccination and submit 2 fingerprint cards upon acceptance

• Coordinate and perform nursing care procedures for patients of all ages

• Work independently with complete accountability for all actions taken

• Make clinical decisions independently during scheduled shifts

• Delegate and supervise CNA/Tech staff appropriately

• React calmly and make sound nursing judgments in emergent situations

• Implement safe, therapeutic and efficient care using infection control measures

• Administer age-specific medications and therapeutics accurately

• Complete thorough nursing assessments and admission databases

• Document patient responses to care and maintain confidentiality

• Provide patient and family education on procedures and disease processes

• Participate in patient care conferences and shift reporting

• Must obtain BLS and PALS upon hire, ACLS within 6 months

• TNCC/ATCN and NRP certification required within first 6 months depending on specialty

• One year clinical nursing experience preferred

• Prior emergency department experience preferred

• Must live at least 50+ miles away from facility address

• Attend at least 50% of departmental staff meetings

• Complete annual competencies and maintain certifications
