Pay Range: $44.57 - $62.80
$25,000 Sign On and $10,000 Relocation for qualified hire! $10,000 annual geographic differential pay on top of base!
- Provide sonographic examination of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation.
- Exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures applying principles of radiation protection.
- Perform diagnostic medical sonography within the department and other areas.
- Maintain patient records and files.
- Assume responsibility for the departmental quality assurance program.
- Pursue continuing education.
- Transfer patients to and from imaging.
- In the absence of a supervisor, assume responsibility of the department.
- Rotate shifts as required.
- Perform ancillary duties as requested by supervisor.
- Follow policies and procedures as set up by SEARHC Administration.
- Assist in general hygiene of the department and self.
- Work well in situations of stress.
- Be willing to learn other imaging modalities as requested by Manager.
- Be able to perform duties in two fields of ultrasound (General and Vascular, or Cardiac).
- Perform all requested exams for diagnostic interpretation by a radiologist.
- Continue to seek a higher level of education with RDMS certification (Abd, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS).
- Fulfill radiology and/or RDMS requirements through continuing education.
- Take responsibility for care of transducers.
- Ensure neatness of work area.
- Handle paperwork accompanying procedures.
- Assist with ultrasound invasive procedures.
- Participate in preparation of policy and procedure in this area.
- Consult with referring physicians.
- Care of Trophon station.
- Assist with all efforts to obtain accreditations.
- Actively pursue education in a changing field.
- Attend department/organizational meetings, in‑services, and disaster drills.
- Current ARDMS in one category (Abd or OB/GYN).
- Clinical competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years.
- Tech I – ARDMS in one modality (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS).
- Tech II – ARDMS certified in two modalities/categories (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS).
- Tech III – ARDMS categories in three modalities (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS).
- Tech IV – ARDMS categories in all four modalities (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS).
- Travel may be required to provide services to various SEARHC sites.
- Required certifications:
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association, Clinical Competency Assessment – SEARHC.
