Summary

As a PMO Lead at Gainwell, you will play a critical role in driving successful delivery for complex, client‑facing initiatives that support healthcare programs serving our nation’s most vulnerable populations. This role blends PMO leadership, program delivery, and service management, requiring strong governance, executive communication, and the ability to influence across a matrixed organization.

Your role in our mission
  • Execute and evolve a PMO strategy aligned to client needs, contractual commitments, and organizational objectives.
  • Establish and maintain project governance frameworks
    , standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent, compliant, and effective delivery. Partner with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and external partners to align delivery plans with strategic priorities.
  • Own and govern integrated project schedules, budgets, and resource plans across multiple concurrent initiatives, with a strong focus on forecasting and financial discipline. Monitor project and service performance, proactively identifying risks and issues, escalating as appropriate, and driving corrective actions.
  • Facilitate client discussions related to delivery challenges, bringing forward practical, solution‑oriented mitigation strategies before milestones are impacted. Decompose complex initiatives into modular work streams and align skilled resources to planned deliverables, including resources that do not report directly to you.
  • Oversee service delivery processes to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and adherence to defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Identify opportunities for continuous service improvement and lead initiatives to implement enhancements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, company leadership, and delivery teams by producing and presenting clear project and program metrics, including schedule adherence, budget performance, staffing, and risk posture. Support new business and growth initiatives by contributing timeline, budget, and resource estimates for Statements of Work (SOWs) and proposal efforts.
What we're looking for
  • 9+ years of experience managing complex projects using Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies
    ;
    Medicaid or Medicare experience strongly preferred.
  • PMP certification required. Demonstrated ability to estimate, manage, and control project budgets, schedules, and resources
    .
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining complex project schedules using tools such as Microsoft Project and Smartsheet
    .
  • Working knowledge of ITIL practices (Change, Release, Incident, Problem); ITIL certification is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to translate strategic objectives into clear, executable plans and milestones.
  • Experience mentoring and guiding junior project management staff.
  • Confident executive‑level communicator and presenter.
  • Strong influencer capable of driving alignment and accountability across direct and indirect stakeholder groups.
  • Creative, analytical problem‑solver with the ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver results in complex environments.

The pay range for this position is $81,100.00 - $ per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
