Position: REFRIGERATION OPERATOR II WRANGELL SHOREPLANT

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Summary

The Refrigeration Operator II is expected to maintain optimal operation of industrial refrigeration systems and associated equipment. This will be achieved by following operating procedures, planning and performing preventative maintenance, documenting inspections and rounds during operation, and collaborating with the QA/QC team to maintain acceptable temperatures for all product types. This position works in a fast‑paced environment with a proactive approach to ensure continuity of operations.

Expected equipment to service includes:
Control system (manual and computerized), plate freezers, blast freezers, tunnel freezers, spiral freezers, compressors, condensers, purgers, pumps, RSW chillers, ice machines, and cooler units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the system following plant operating and maintenance procedures.
  • Perform scheduled Mechanical Integrity Inspections on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Ensure daily system logs are performed.
  • Plan and perform routine pre‑/post‑season maintenance and repairs with contractors or refrigeration technicians.
  • Gather pre‑/post‑season parts and supply inventories.
  • Train Operator I’s and refrigeration assistants in day‑to‑day activities.
  • Identify issues or problems and escalate as needed according to troubleshooting procedures and processes.
  • Review and understand technical bulletins, service documents, and system schematics.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in Trident’s PSM program by performing repair records, engaging in meetings, and pursuing further training.
  • Acquire knowledge of Trident’s environmental and safety policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notify designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety training.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts; frequently exposed to outside weather conditions; occasionally exposed to high and precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
