Job Summary:
Provide essential nursing care to adult and geriatric residents in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility setting. Support licensed nursing staff by implementing care plans, monitoring resident conditions, and ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform basic nursing tasks under the supervision of a licensed nurse, including bathing, grooming, and assisting with mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respirations, and report abnormal findings.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including feeding, ambulation, and positioning.
- Maintain a safe and sanitary environment by preparing rooms, handling supplies, and ensuring correct disposal of waste.
- Collect specimens and transport them to the appropriate departments.
- Provide bedside care and respond promptly to call lights, ensuring resident comfort and safety.
- Hold a current, unrestricted CNA license in the state of Alaska.
- Have at least 1 year of prior CNA experience preferred.
- Possess current BLS certification.
- Demonstrate the ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting and turning residents.
- Exhibit strong communication skills and a caring attitude toward residents and families.
- Ability to react calmly in emergency situations and make sound judgments within scope of duties.
