Clinical Nurse - Night Shift
Job Description
The Clinical Nurse coordinates and performs a variety of nursing care procedures for patients of all ages, requiring professional knowledge and the ability to work independently. The role includes accountability for patient care, making clinical decisions, and consulting with appropriate personnel in difficult situations. The nurse is responsible for supporting patients and their families, ensuring high-quality nursing care in compliance with established guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage safe, therapeutic, and efficient patient care.
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including interviews and observations.
- Administer medications and therapeutics accurately while following care standards.
- Document patient care and progress, including reassessments and discharge plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate care activities.
- Provide education to patients and families to promote understanding and coping strategies.
- Assure confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Participate in departmental staff meetings and continuing education initiatives.
- Valid, current, full, and unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska.
- BLS and PALS certification required upon hire; ACLS certification to be obtained within six months.
- One year of clinical nurse experience preferred.
This position involves 12-hour night shifts, requiring flexibility and adaptability to changing patient needs.
