Requirements
- Valid, current, full and unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska
- BLS and PALS certifications upon hire
- ACLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Flu vaccination required
- Two fingerprint cards must be submitted immediately upon acceptance
Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform a variety of nursing care procedures for patients of all ages, considering specific patient conditions and treatments.
- Make independent clinical decisions during scheduled shifts, maintaining accountability for nursing actions.
- Consult with managers and other departments in complex situations requiring additional resources.
- Administer medications and therapeutics in accordance with standards of care, nursing policies, and procedures.
- Educate patients and families on tests, procedures, and disease processes, promoting optimal health and understanding.
- Document patient care effectively, including assessment findings, progress towards goals, and care plans.
Compliance / Notes
- Orientation may be required.
- Background checks and drug screenings may be mandated.
- Scrubs and dress code policies apply.
