Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced environment. Ensure patient safety, deliver high-quality care, and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to meet urgent healthcare needs.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and perform nursing procedures, ensuring adherence to provider orders, standards of care, and hospital policies.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and responses in medical records.
• React promptly and effectively to emergency situations, making independent clinical decisions.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to CNA/Tech staff, ensuring proper care delivery and safety protocols are followed.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and health management.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance care standards.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a valid, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or another U.S. state.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; TNCC preferred for ED nurses.
• Successful completion of clinical competency within 3 months of hire and every three years.
• Previous experience in emergency, acute care, or long-term care preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, decision-making capabilities, and ability to work calmly under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
