Material Handler

UMI / Opustone seeks a reliable Material Handler to support our luxury surface wholesale operation. You will receive, inspect, and organize natural stone, porcelain, quartz, and specialty slabs; pick and stage orders for designer and contractor projects; and safely load/unload trucks using forklifts and material handling equipment. This role ensures accurate inventory, careful handling of premium materials, and a clean, safe warehouse, collaborating closely with sales and showroom teams to support an elevated client experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming stone, porcelain, quartz, and specialty surface shipments
• Safely operate forklifts, cranes, and material handling equipment to move and store slabs
• Pick, stage, and prepare orders for delivery or customer pickup according to work orders
• Load and unload trucks while protecting premium materials from damage
• Maintain accurate inventory counts using WMS or inventory tools
• Label, organize, and store materials to optimize warehouse space and accessibility
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse environment following OSHA standards
• Collaborate with sales and showroom teams to prioritize and stage time sensitive client orders
• Report damages, discrepancies, and safety hazards to supervisors promptly
• Assist with cycle counts and periodic inventory audits
