Children Social Worker – Care and Support Team

What You Will Do

Complete assessments and interventions in line with Wales Safeguarding Procedures and the Signs of Safety framework.

Develop child-centred care and support plans in collaboration with children, young people, and families.

Work across Child in Need
, Child Protection
, and Looked After Children cases as required.

Lead and contribute to multi-agency meetings, including Child Protection Conferences, Core Groups, and LAC Reviews.

Undertake Section 47 enquiries
, assessing and responding to safeguarding risks.

Manage a varied caseload, ensuring timely and accurate recording within WCCIS
.

Use trauma-informed approaches to build strong, trusted relationships with families.

Partner with education, health, police, and youth services to deliver coordinated interventions.

Maintain compliance with Social Care Wales professional standards.
