About the roleThe Governing Body of the Penrhyn-coch and Penllwyn Schools Federation is seeking a permanent After‑School Club Play Assistant: an enthusiastic and caring individual to support our after‑school provision. The role involves working 4 hours per week, in addition to casual supply work.
Purpose of the jobAssist in organising the after‑school provision at Penllwyn Community School on a day‑to‑day basis, providing high standards of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 4 and 11 in a safe and secure environment.
Main duties and responsibilities- Providing after‐school provision: maintaining a safe and stimulating play environment and assisting with the development of opportunities that encourage children's social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development through play
- Be responsible to the club supervisor and the Headteacher
- Ensure that the provision offers a safe and exciting play environment
- Assist with the planning, preparation and provision of activities that meet the individual development needs of children
- Work face to face with the children who are registered with the club
- Supervise tea time refreshments for the children
- Follow Safeguarding guidelines and procedures in accordance with Ysgol Penrhyn‑coch and Ysgol Penllwyn Federation policies and procedures
- Carry out any other duties that will be seen to improve the work of the After School Club
A playwork qualification and the ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh would be desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will need to complete a Group Safeguarding qualification.
