The Role

The Head of Hospitality, Catering & Events will be responsible for the operational leadership and day-to-day management of all hospitality, catering and events activities across Wrexham AFC. The role will lead the delivery of outstanding matchday hospitality, public catering operations and non-matchday events, ensuring consistently high standards of customer experience, operational excellence and commercial performance.

Working closely with the Head of Stadium Experience & Fan Engagement and colleagues across the Club, the postholder will support the continued growth of hospitality, catering and events services in line with the Club's ambitions.

What you'll be doing:

People Leadership & Development
  • Provide inspirational leadership across the Hospitality, Catering & Events function, promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement and customer excellence.
  • Lead and support recruitment activities across the department, ensuring the attraction and retention of high-quality talent.
Hospitality & Catering Operations
  • Lead the delivery of all matchday hospitality operations and support the development and delivery of hospitality offerings that meet customer expectations and commercial objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with Commercial and Marketing teams to support hospitality sales initiatives and customer retention.
  • Champion exceptional service standards throughout all hospitality, catering and events operations.
  • Oversee food production, service delivery, menu development and operational planning.
  • Support catering provision for players, staff, Academy, Women's teams and Club events where applicable.
  • Lead the development and delivery of a year‑round non‑matchday events programme.
  • Maximise venue utilisation and revenue opportunities across all Club facilities.
  • Oversee hospitality and catering provision across all Club locations.
Commercial Performance
  • Manage departmental budgets in line with agreed financial targets.
  • Work closely with Finance and Commercial teams to optimise profitability and commercial returns.
Compliance, Governance & Supplier & Contract Management
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and Club policies.
  • Build strong partnerships with suppliers and service providers and monitor supplier performance through agreed service standards and KPIs.
  • Support the Club's sustainability objectives through responsible procurement and operational practices.
Experience & Qualifications Essential
  • Significant senior leadership experience within hospitality, catering, events, stadia, leisure or venue management.
  • Proven experience managing large operational teams.
  • Demonstrable success delivering commercial growth and revenue targets.
  • Strong budget management and financial planning experience.
  • Experience leading multi‑site operations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Personal Licence Holder or willingness to obtain.
  • Food Safety and Health & Safety knowledge appropriate to the role.
Desirable
  • Degree or professional qualification in Hospitality, Events, Business Management or related discipline.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
  • Experience with in professional sport, football, entertainment venues or major events.
  • Experience preparing organisations for significant growth and operational transformation.
