Wrexham County Borough Council is dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of our housing stock to ensure the comfort and safety of our tenants. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join our Housing Repairs Team, focusing on emergency repairs, general repairs, and planned maintenance for tenanted properties.
Key Responsibilities- Electrical Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and refurbishments on council properties as instructed. - New Installations:
Undertake new electrical installations and remedial repairs. - Health & Safety Compliance:
Ensure all electrical work complies with NICEIC legislation and safety standards. - Quality Assurance:
Maintain high standards of work and ensure tenant satisfaction. - Team
Collaboration:
Work closely with site agents, planners, and other team members to ensure coordinated service delivery. - Resource Management:
Efficiently manage materials, tools, and vehicle stock. - Documentation:
Accurately complete all electronic documentation related to daily tasks and ensure prompt submission.
- NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds 2357 in Electrical Installations.
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2018).
- AM2 Inspection & Testing .
- Current CSCS Card.
- Candidates must hold the City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification, as this is an essential requirement of the role to ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations.
Experience:
Demonstrated experience in electrical maintenance, repair, and installation work within residential properties.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with tenants and colleagues.
- Proficiency in mobile working and electronic documentation.
- Commitment to customer care and high‑quality service delivery.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing workloads and demands.
- Full, valid driving license.
- Additional Qualifications:
Advanced City and Guilds or equivalent. - Welsh Language
Skills:
Ability to communicate in Welsh.

As the role requires you to interact with our contract holders, you will be expected to have excellent verbal communication and customer service with a positive approach and a can do attitude.
