Wrexham County Borough Council is dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of our housing stock to ensure the comfort and safety of our tenants. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join our Housing Repairs Team, focusing on emergency repairs, general repairs, and planned maintenance for tenanted properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform day‑to‑day maintenance, repairs, and refurbishments on council properties as instructed.
  • Undertake new electrical installations and remedial repairs.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with NICEIC legislation and safety standards.
  • Maintain high standards of work and ensure tenant satisfaction.
  • Work closely with site agents, planners, and other team members to coordinate service delivery.
  • Efficiently manage materials, tools, and vehicle stock.
  • Accurately complete all electronic documentation related to daily tasks and ensure prompt submission.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds 2357 in Electrical Installations.
  • 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2018).
  • AM2 Inspection & Testing .
  • Current CSCS card.
Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical maintenance, repair, and installation work within residential properties.
Skills
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with tenants and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in mobile working and electronic documentation.
Attributes
  • Commitment to customer care and high‑quality service delivery.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing workloads and demands.
  • Full, valid driving licence.
Desirable
  • Additional qualifications – Advanced City and Guilds or equivalent.
  • Welsh language skills – ability to communicate in Welsh.
