Medical Receptionist (Patient Coordinator)

Location: On-site at our office in Wyandotte, MI. Travel to other offices in Brownstown, Wayne and Dearborn, MI is required as needed; mileage reimbursement is provided.
Position status: Full‑time, long‑term. This role is not suitable for students seeking a summer job or part‑time work during the school year.

A Patient Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for patients, setting the tone for their visit through exceptional patient care and performing administrative duties to create a smooth check‑in/out experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone). Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly, and thank them when they leave.
- Answer both external and internal phone calls, ensuring prompt, courteous service at all times.
- Practice urgency with patient and doctor scheduling.
- Manage patient flow within the office.
- Know common fee structures for typical visits and collect correct payments.
- Complete daily reconciliations, close day, and count the cash drawer.
- Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by management.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff in a courteous, professional manner.
- Desire to gain industry knowledge and training.
- Demonstrated initiative in achieving practice goals.
- Ability to grow, adapt, and accept change.
- Create a positive work environment by being team‑oriented and patient‑focused.
- Commitment to work over 40 hours per week as required by the practice.
- Reliable transportation to commute between multiple work locations on short notice.
- Minimum:
High school diploma or GED. - Minimum:
One year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
No specific license or credential required.
SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%), standing (50%). Requires regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25–50%). Able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs.
- Strong fine motor skills and use of hands for grasping, writing/typing, and technology use.
- Visual and auditory acuity, including color, depth, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment required 100% of the time.
- Occasional driving or climbing may be necessary.
