Power Distribution Project Manager

Wyandotte, MI (On Site)

We are looking for a Power Distribution Project Manager to join our Performance Materials team in Wyandotte. The Performance Materials division is at the forefront of the much‑needed sustainability transformation in plastics. Our experts co‑create products with customers to bring innovations to major industry sectors such as transportation, consumer goods, industrial applications, and construction. These solutions contribute to a sustainable future by pushing the boundaries in thermal resistance, robustness and lightweight applications.

In this role, you will assist the Wyandotte Power Distribution Team to assure the safety, productivity and reliability of the electrical distribution system on site by developing and implementing maintenance and site asset plans. You will also lead the planning and implementation of the site electrical utility outage and partner with the City of Wyandotte City Utilities Department to ensure reliable electricity service to the Site.

Responsibilities
  • Managing the Wyandotte Power Distribution System: ensuring the safe and timely repair and maintenance of electrical utilities to maintain site safety, reliability and productivity.
  • Identifying qualifications and selecting power distribution team members; providing required training; offering power distribution expertise to site business units as needed.
  • Developing and implementing the site asset management plan for electrical power distribution; identifying required assets to meet site needs; establishing maintenance plans to ensure asset reliability; participating in the site development plan process.
  • Planning the electrical site outage to achieve safety, cost and schedule objectives; determining required maintenance activities, scheduling maintenance and repair jobs; engaging vendors for outsourced maintenance activities; developing a safe switching plan to ensure the safe and timely shutdown and recovery of site electrical power.
  • Acting as a manufacturing representative and construction manager for power distribution projects; partnering with assigned project managers to ensure safety, functionality, cost and schedule objectives are achieved.
  • Partnering with the City of Wyandotte City Utilities Department to ensure reliable electricity service to the site; engaging as needed for site utility outage support and unplanned disruptions to site service.
  • Supporting department safety activities: champions, safety contacts, barrier removal, global safety days, safety training presentations, excavation permit review and approval, participant in the site electrical/safety workgroup.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering required, Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience in preventative and predictive maintenance programs and project engineering.
  • Ability to work independently under broad goals and objectives with minimal guidance; strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills focused on relationship building and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with SAP PPM, MS Office, and other CMMS preferred.
