Position OverviewHenry Ford Health System is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our Neurosurgery team. This role includes inpatient rounding for new consultants from the ER and admitted patients, post-operative care and progress assessments, and discharge management. The APP will perform procedures such as intrathecal pump management and refills, CSF and VP shunt management, as well as imaging and diagnostic test review and interpretation.
Responsibilities also include independent outpatient clinic visits. Ideal candidates will have hospital and/or ICU experience, surgical experience, outpatient clinical experience, and prior neurosurgical experience, including familiarity with VP shunts.

Qualifications- NP graduate from an accredited program
- National certification (ANCC, AANP)
- BLS required; ACLS required (or obtained after hire)
- Experience
:
Hospital and/or ICU experience, surgical experience, outpatient clinical experience, VP shunts, Neurosurgical experience.
- Nurse Practitioner (NP):
Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required).

National certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan (e.g., ANCC, AANP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required (may be obtained after hire)
- NP
: DEA registration required through credentialing; NPs do not hold a Michigan CSL and will use their Michigan license number during the application process
