Location:Henry Ford Wyandotte

Preferred Experience:Minimum 2 years of cardiac nursing experience required in a cardiac-focused setting such as a telemetry unit, cardiac step-down unit, cardiac ICU, or other cardiovascular specialty area. Prior experience in an ambulatory/outpatient setting is preferred.

Department Overview:

The Cardiovascular Medicine Clinic at Henry Ford Wyandotte provides comprehensive outpatient care for patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, including general cardiology, advanced heart failure, and electrophysiology (EP) diagnoses. This fast-paced ambulatory clinic is committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care through clinical expertise, education, and coordination across the continuum of care. Nurses play a vital role in supporting patients before, during, and after cardiovascular treatments and procedures while serving as a key resource for symptom management and patient education.

Registered Nurses in this department function with a high level of autonomy and collaborate closely with providers, medical assistants, and other members of the care team. Responsibilities include managing patient communications through the electronic in-basket, triaging incoming calls, scheduling appointments and procedures, rooming and discharging patients, conducting RN visits, providing procedure education, coordinating care, completing post-procedure telephone follow-up calls, and processing medication refill requests.

The ideal candidate will have a strong cardiovascular background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality care in a collaborative outpatient setting.

GENERAL

SUMMARY:

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates with the health care team. Demonstrates clinical competence. May require a professional certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard for the position, works independently and in collaboration with principal investigator when appropriate.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory orientation.
  • Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty.
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel.
  • Preferred experience in the specialty.
  • Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES

REQUIRED:

  • Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current BLS or ACLS per Henry Ford Health policy.
