Apprentice Electrician
Join our team as an electrical apprentice on an exciting commercial building project within the Plymouth/Canton school system. This role involves working with a dynamic crew to install and replace light fixtures throughout the building.
Responsibilities- Install and replace light fixtures.
- Run and bend conduit.
- Properly install and connect push-button controls, limit switches, pressure switches, float switches, flow switches, and other motor control devices.
- Assist in installing control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, circuit-breaker panels, and transformers.
- Learn to observe the function of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
- Learn to layout and install electrical work for commercial projects based on drawings, sketches, and specifications.
- Assist in carrying out assigned tasks with customers using effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ensure all work is done safely and correctly.
- Valid State of Michigan Apprentice License.
- 3+ years of accumulated experience, preferably targeting 4th-year apprentices.
- Commercial experience in schools, hospitals, or retail spaces.
- Valid Driver's License.
Skills & Qualifications
- Own tools.
- Experience in bending conduit, pulling wire, and conduit bending.
- Experience with EMT, rigid, PVC conduit, pulling and running wires, and reading blueprints.

Work EnvironmentWork will be conducted in an indoor commercial space within an occupied school building. Shifts are from 3pm to 11pm, so candidates must be respectful of the presence of students, teachers, and staff.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of WYANDOTTE, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
