The Sr. Staff R&D Engineer will be a key contributor within BD Medication Delivery Solutions, Injection Systems team. The individual in this position will possess extensive technical expertise and a broad understanding of related disciplines, developing innovative solutions to complex technical challenges through the regular application of ingenuity and creativity. He/she will provide technical and project leadership for cross‑functional product development initiatives, coordinating activities across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and external partners to ensure successful execution from concept through commercialization.

The individual will play a leading role in the development, integration, analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of medical devices used for the preparation and delivery of parenteral and enteral medications. Experience with elastomeric materials and components, including their design, characterization, manufacturing processes, performance evaluation, and integration into medication delivery systems, is highly desirable.

• Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long‑range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self‑initiated. Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to achieve desired technical, project, and business outcomes.
• Provides technical and project leadership for complex product development and lifecycle management initiatives, developing project strategies, aligning cross‑functional teams, managing technical risks, and driving execution to meet program objectives.
• Serves as an organizational spokesperson on advanced projects and programs. Acts as an advisor to management, customers, and cross‑functional stakeholders on complex technical, product development, and research‑related matters.
• Applies advanced engineering principles, theories, and concepts across multiple disciplines. Contributes to the development of new technologies, methodologies, and design approaches. Solves unusually complex technical problems with highly innovative and effective solutions.
