Church Accountant

Bethany Church is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Controller to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong Christian faith and a calling to steward God’s resources with integrity, excellence, and wisdom.

The Church Controller will oversee and support the financial operations of Bethany Church which ministers across multiple locations. This individual must demonstrate a mature Christian walk, with faith that influences every area of life, including financial stewardship and accountability.

• Oversee financial reporting, internal controls, and daily accounting operations
• Manage day-to-day accounting functions for a multi-campus church and community center
• Code and reconcile transactions, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reports
• Support budgeting, payroll coordination, and financial compliance
• Work closely with church leadership and the Finance Department
• Manage budgets and forecasting, while supporting strategic decision-making
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with church policies and best practices

• A strong, active Christian faith that shapes personal and professional life
• Solid understanding of church or nonprofit finances
• Experience with accounting software (Aplos experience preferred; training provided)
• High attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and leadership
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
