SUMMARY

The Accounting Manager plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the Resort’s financial operations. This position oversees daily financial reporting activities, manages cash and account reconciliations, supports compliance and audit processes, and serves as a trusted resource for accounting and operational leaders across the organization.

Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The Accounting Manager partners with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide accurate financial information while helping drive operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the integrity and accuracy of the General Ledger through ongoing reconciliation, review, and maintenance activities.

Provide backup support for Accounts Payable functions, including invoice processing, reconciliations, and workflow management in partnership with the Staff Accountant/AP Clerk.

Serve as a backup resource for the Reconciliation Auditor, supporting daily balancing and reconciliation activities as needed.

Monitor, track, and resolve NSF (non-sufficient funds) transactions and returned checks while maintaining appropriate documentation and follow-up procedures.

Review, code, and reconcile miscellaneous deposits to ensure accurate financial reporting and account classification.

Develop, analyze, and prepare ad hoc financial reports and operational analyses to support management decision-making.

Maintain sales tax compliance by monitoring tax accounts, researching regulatory changes, and preparing and submitting monthly sales tax filings accurately and on time.

Manage and maintain the Chart of Accounts and financial reporting structures to support accurate reporting and operational needs.

Partner with operational departments to maintain General Ledger mappings and tax configurations within Point-of-Sales systems, ensuring accuracy during product, pricing, and operational updates.

Collaborate regularly with department leaders and managers to promote financial best practices, strengthen internal controls, and ensure accounting processes are executed effectively and efficiently.

Foster and model a guest-focused culture by supporting exceptional service standards and reinforcing Grand Targhee Resort's commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and internal controls while supporting departmental and organizational goals.

Support month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, financial analysis, and audit preparation.

Assist with external audits, tax reporting requirements, regulatory reviews, and other compliance-related initiatives by providing accurate financial information and supporting documentation.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
