We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated audit professional to join our senior leadership team as Senior Audit & Assurance Manager (Audit Practice Principal Designate). The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in securing the firm’s Audit Practice Licence, developing the audit department, and leading audit engagements across a broad portfolio of clients. This role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape the future of the firm’s assurance services while working closely with the Directors on strategic growth.

It is critical to the continued growth, sustainability and economic contribution of the Group in Guernsey.

• Lead and manage statutory audit engagements from planning through to completion.
• Build and develop the firm’s Audit & Assurance practice.
• Support the firm in obtaining and maintaining its Audit Practice Licence.
• Ensure compliance with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs), ethical standards and quality management requirements.
• Manage audit assignments for a broad portfolio of clients, including regulated and non‑regulated businesses.
• Review audit files and ensure work is completed to the highest professional standards.

• Prepare and review annual financial statements for companies of varying sizes in accordance with UK GAAP, IFRS, FRS 102 and applicable statutory requirements.
• Provide technical accounting advice to clients and colleagues.
• Review management accounts and assist clients with financial reporting requirements where appropriate.

• Maintain an excellent working knowledge of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC) regulatory framework.
• Ensure audit and accounting assignments comply with all applicable professional and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain strong knowledge of Guernsey Revenue Service requirements, including corporate taxation and filing obligations.
• Keep up to date with developments in legislation, accounting standards and auditing standards.

• Train, mentor and supervise junior accountants and audit staff.
• Review the work of team members and provide technical guidance.
• Develop internal procedures and promote continuous professional development.
• Assist with recruitment and the continued growth of the firm’s professional team.

• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Provide practical commercial advice alongside audit and accounting services.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and develop new business.
• Represent the firm professionally with clients, regulators and other professional advisers.

• ACA, ACCA or another recognised professional accounting qualification (FCA or FCCA).
• A minimum of five years post‑qualified experience working within Guernsey, including significant experience auditing regulated businesses.
• Extensive knowledge of Guernsey auditing, accounting and regulatory requirements.
• Strong understanding of the GFSC regulatory framework.
• Excellent knowledge of Guernsey Revenue Service requirements and local taxation matters.
• Experience managing statutory audits independently.
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Strong leadership and staff development experience.
• The ability to contribute towards obtaining and maintaining the firm’s Audit Practice Licence.
• Experience working with complex group structures and multi‑jurisdictional tax and regulatory environments.
• Excellent strategic, analytical and commercial judgement.
• Exceptional relationship‑building, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
