Mudroom and Nomad Sports are seeking an experienced Ski Service Center Manager & Lead Technician to lead our state‑of‑the‑art Wintersteiger service operation in Teton Village, Wyoming.

This position combines hands‑on technical expertise, team leadership, quality control, equipment management, and operational oversight within one of Jackson Hole's most respected specialty ski service departments.

Nomad Sports and Mudroom have built a reputation over more than 30 years for delivering the highest quality ski service in Jackson Hole. Operating from our state‑of‑the‑art Wintersteiger service center in Teton Village, we are committed to craftsmanship, innovation, attention to detail, and exceptional guest experiences.

We believe that quality, consistency, and attention to detail matter more than volume, and we are looking for a leader who shares that philosophy.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced ski technician or current service manager looking to take ownership of a premier service center while maintaining the mountain lifestyle that brought them to the ski industry in the first place.

Working closely with company leadership, this individual will help drive service quality, operational excellence, employee development, and departmental performance throughout the winter season.

This is a full‑time seasonal position starting in October 2026 throughout the ski season, ending roughly end of April 2027. Mudroom and Nomad Sports or located at the base of the famous Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Key Responsibilities Service Center Operations
  • Manage the daily operation of the service center, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of all services.
  • Maintain the highest standards of ski and snowboard tuning according to manufacturer specifications and customer needs.
  • Oversee quality control for all tuning, repair, mounting, and service work.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, cleaning, and troubleshooting of service center equipment, including Wintersteiger machinery.
  • Maintain and optimize performance of our Wintersteiger Jupiter tuning system.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order tuning supplies, tools, and replacement parts as needed.
  • Maintain service center organization, cleanliness, and safety standards.
Team Leadership
  • Recruit, train, coach, and supervise service center employees.
  • Assign daily responsibilities and manage workflow to meet guest expectations and operational goals.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and productive work environment.
  • Conduct ongoing training in tuning techniques, equipment operation, safety practices, and customer service.
  • Lead by example through professionalism, craftsmanship, and accountability.
Guest Service & Business Performance
  • Provide professional and knowledgeable guest interactions, accurately assessing service needs and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with retail, rental, and management teams at both Mudroom and Nomad Sports.
  • Assist leadership in establishing seasonal goals, productivity targets, service revenue objectives, and quality benchmarks.
  • Monitor turnaround times, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and guest experience.
Fleet & Equipment Management
  • Oversee maintenance and performance of demo fleets across both store locations.
  • Coordinate in‑season binding testing, adjustments, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records related to equipment testing, maintenance, and service procedures.
  • Ensure all equipment meets manufacturer and industry safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proven ability to work independently and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Minimum two years of ski and snowboard tuning experience.
  • Experience operating and maintaining Wintersteiger equipment or equivalent automated tuning systems.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods.
  • Passion for skiing, snowboarding, and mountain culture.
Preferred
  • Previous service shop or ski shop management experience.
