Hospital employed setting. Incoming physician will be sole provider in town for gastroenterology.
Call CoverageER calls limited to schedule availability, with General Surgery backup if needed.
Clinical SettingTraditional inpatient/outpatient practice (hospital and office) supported by a newly expanded surgical services department, including:
- 5 operating suites (2 with laminar airflow)
- 1 urology room
- 1 endoscopy room
- new central sterile suite
- 8‑bed post‑anesthesia recovery unit
- 12‑bed same‑day surgery unit
The county and surrounding counties lack a full‑time gastroenterologist, serving an approximate population of 300,000 who currently travel to St. Louis for care.
Hospital Statistics (2011)- ER visits: 9,782
- Inpatient surgeries: 597
- Outpatient surgeries: 2,810
