School Psychologist

Carbon County School District No. 2

Assist students, teachers, and parents in promoting mental and social wellness in the educational experience. This may include individual and/or group counseling with students and administering and interpreting evaluations to determine need for specialized instruction.

• Wyoming State Certification as a School Psychologist

• Conduct psychological assessments with referred students to provide recommendations to the interdisciplinary teams.
• Conduct individual or group therapy for students in line with their Individual Education Program.
• Serve as a resource and consultant to student‑centered teams and recommend instructional, behavioral and management programs to facilitate learning.
• Encourage parental involvement and maintain effective communication with students and parents.
• Participate in multidisciplinary assessment team meetings to develop and evaluate Individual Education Plans.

Perform such other appropriate duties as may be assigned by the principal or special education director.

• Requires driving skills and ability to drive at night.
• Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
• Requires occasional overnight travel.
• Work in standard office and school building environments.

The School Psychologist shall be employed by the Board no later than April 15. Contract terms shall follow the adopted salary schedule and benefit package.

Reports to:

School Principals, Director of Special Education.

Performance will be evaluated per the Board’s policy on evaluation of certified personnel, by the Special Education Director with input from school principals.
