General Responsibility

To guide children, youth and adults in gaining knowledge and skills to be productive citizens.

Status: Per teaching contract, work days and hours will be determined by the Superintendent and Board of Trustees.

Payment Rate: Certified Salary Schedule

Qualifications
  • Holds a valid State of Wyoming Teaching Certificate
  • Meets all certification requirements including teaching area endorsement in the State of Wyoming
  • Meets all certification requirements including endorsements in Elementary Education and Early Education in the State of Wyoming, and in alignment with NAEYC Accreditation Program Standards.
Duties
  • Prepare curriculum and lessons based on Head Start and/or Even Start standards.
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate programs that meet the individual needs, interests and abilities of students within the district pre‑k curriculum.
  • Create a classroom environment that is conductive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Develop culturally appropriate programs and activities.
  • Keep parents informed of program expectations, activities, and their child’s progress.
  • Develop and maintain current, accurate and confidential student files.
  • Promote and follow adopted school district philosophy and administrative procedures.
  • Communicate concerns and ideas with colleagues, students, parents, and community in a positive, professional, ethical manner.
  • Use effective developmentally appropriate practice, teaching techniques and materials to implement established early childhood readiness and curriculum goals and objectives.
  • Provide teacher leadership in the classroom, school, and teaching profession.
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards.
  • Support and participate in developing policies and practices to improve student learning.
  • Establish a respectful environment for students.
  • Align instruction to state standards and recognize interconnectedness of content areas/disciplines.
  • Know content appropriate to the teaching specialty and make instruction relevant to students.
