Job Purpose: To fulfill the educational requirements of students with disabilities as outlined by IDEA through development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet each student’s academic, social, behavioral, and functional needs while fostering collaboration among educators, parents, and specialists.
QualificationsMust hold or be eligible for Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board certification in the required content area.
Position Details- Position Type: Full‑Time
- Salary: $67,070 – $103,270 per year

Hours:
1,480 hours - Reporting to: Building Principal or designated Director of Special Services
- Provide speech‑language services for students eligible under IDEA or participating in Child Find activities.
- Work with students across the full spectrum of disabilities, from mild/moderate to severe/multiple disorders.
- Deliver services on an individual, small‑group, or classroom basis.
- Offer extended school‑year or extended‑school‑day services as needed.
- Collaborate with and train other professionals and parents to facilitate students’ academic, communication, and social skills.
- Complete required documentation for federal, state, and local agencies; write reports and participate in annual review conferences.
- Serve as consultant to other educators and related professionals.
- Supervise interns, practicums, and student teachers as assigned.
- Supervise special education paraprofessionals, providing programming direction, growth goals, and periodical feedback.
- Participate in problem‑solving teams (e.g., intervention, IEP, PLC).
- Participate in screening and diagnostic evaluations for students referred for evaluation of suspected IDEA.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs.
- Plan for specially designed instruction, supports, modifications, and accommodations.
- Provide direct services and case management for students with disabilities.
- Maintain strong organization and record‑keeping.
- Excellent listening, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Maintain confidentiality of information relating to students and staff.
- Meet all compliance requirements set by local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
- Adhere to all school district policies, procedures, federal and state laws.
- Meet professional licensure requirements, rules, regulations, and code of conduct.

Working knowledge of district policies, procedures, and the educational setting; understanding of IDEA, ADA Section 504, Wyoming rules, and district policies governing special education.
Knowledge of the theory, principles, and methods of special education, and implementation of high‑impact practices to support student learning academically, socially, behaviorally, and functionally.
