Position: Teacher of the Deaf in Carpenter, WY
Location: Carpenter

Make a lasting impact supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing within a school-based setting near Carpenter, WY, offered on a contract basis. Your specialized skills will enrich students' educational experiences by fostering accessibility, communication, and learning. This opportunity allows passionate professionals to make a true difference in the lives of students who are deaf or hard of hearing, collaborating closely with other educators and families.

Qualifications/Experience Sought:
  • Valid teaching credential/license with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ideally within schools
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities relevant to DHH students
  • Strong interpersonal communication abilities and collaborative skills
  • Capability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Commitment to fostering inclusion and advocating for student needs
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct and consultative services to DHH students across grade levels
  • Tailor lessons and materials to students' individual needs and communication preferences
  • Collaborate with general and special education staff to support inclusion
  • Conduct assessments and participate in IEP meetings
  • Engage and inform families about student progress and available strategies
  • Serve as a resource for staff regarding best practices for DHH students
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
