Position: Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Burns, WY
Location: Burns

Qualifications:
  • Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field
  • Experience working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing (K-12 preferred)
  • Strong understanding of hearing assistive technology and alternative communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing loss both individually and in group settings
  • Adapt curriculum to ensure accessibility and equity
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that values communication diversity
  • Consult with general education teachers, families, and related service providers to maximize student participation
  • Assess student progress and make data-driven adjustments to teaching strategies
  • Support students in developing self-advocacy and social skills
