Job Title

ATSEM Assistant in Early Childhood Education

Under the hierarchical authority of the Director of Education, Youth, and School Affairs and under the functional authority of the school's director, the ATSEM's main mission is to assist teachers in welcoming and taking care of children in kindergarten. He/she contributes to the well-being of children by ensuring their safety and comfort. He/she works under the direct supervision of the teacher and is responsible for assisting in all tasks related to classroom management, organization, and the animation of activities for children aged 2 to 6 years.

Your main duties will be:

• Assisting the teacher in the preparation and animation of educational and pedagogical activities tailored to the needs of the children
• Welcoming children and their parents, accompanying them in their installation and helping them to realize themselves with the class environment
• Helping children in their learning by providing individual attention and encouraging them to participate in the proposed activities
• Ensuring the safety and well-being of children, providing assistance during meals, movement, hygiene care, and dressing
• Ensuring the hygiene and cleanliness of the classroom, restrooms, and educational materials
• Assisting the teacher in supervising children during breaks, outings, and extracurricular activities
• Participating in meetings and training organized by the establishment to improve professional skills
• Creating activity projects and animating midday times and extracurricular activities (TAP)
• Assisting teachers and the school in welcoming children with special educational needs

- Hold a diploma in early childhood care.

- Be a holder of the ATSEM competition.

Competencies:

• Ability to work in a team and respect the instructions given by the school director and his/her hierarchy
• Ability to communicate effectively and establish positive relationships with children and parents
• Basic knowledge of child development, hygiene, needs, and behaviors
• Knowledge of safety rules and emergency protocols in case of an accident
• Sense of organization, rigor, and punctuality
• Ability to work in a sometimes noisy and hectic environment

Professional experience in a kindergarten. Any additional training or experience is appreciated (BAFA, BPJEPS, accompaniment of children with special educational needs…)

Indicative remuneration + COS Mediterranean

Art. L332-14 of the general code of the public service - A contractual employee may be recruited for this position pending the recruitment of a civil servant. The proposed contract may not exceed one year, renewable up to a total duration of two years.
