Position Description
Primary Objective:
To inspire students with an elementary education that leads them to love learning, grow in Christ, and gain the liberal arts fundamental skills of reading, spelling, writing, and mathematics.
Main Responsibilities- Provide instruction in accordance with the school’s classical philosophy.
- Provide instruction using Charlotte Mason’s pedagogical techniques of narration, habit training, atmosphere, and a curriculum of living books and ideas.
- Teach and lesson plan for a variety of subjects, including math, nature study, history, literature, poetry, Bible, phonics, reading, spelling, artist study, composer study, and recitation.
- Implement a phonics approach to reading instruction.
- Help students grow in habits of mind, heart, and body.
- Foster positive and collaborative relationships with the students and parents.
- Foster a positive and collaborative relationship with the classroom aide.
- Attend staff meetings and training days.
