Instrumental Music Teacher-part time

Position Description

Schaeffer Academy is a private Christian classical K-12 school in Rochester, MN, and a founding school within the Association of Classical Christian Schools. We are seeking a part-time Instrumental Music Teacher to begin fall 2026. This position is approximately 0.5 FTE and includes instruction in both band and strings for students in grades 4-12. Responsibilities include directing ensembles in grades 7-12, teaching ensembles and group lessons in grades 4-6, preparing students for performances, assessing student progress, and fostering a love for musical excellence within a Christ-centered and classical educational environment.

The ideal candidate has a BA/BS, or higher, in Music Education, Instrumental Music, or a related field, with expertise and experience in instrumental instruction and ensemble leadership. Preference will be given to candidates who understand and embrace the mission of classical Christian education and who are committed to developing both musical skill and character in students.

Salary range:
Approximately $39,000-$45,000 full-time equivalent (FTE), prorated to approximately $19,500-$22,500 annually for this 0.5 FTE position, depending on qualifications and experience. Final benefit eligibility is determined by position hours and FTE designation.
