Assistant Principal
Reports To:
Building Principal
General Responsibility:
To assist and support the school in providing a quality educational environment.
Status:
Full Time, 9-month position, workdays and hours will be determined by the Superintendent.
Payment Rate:
Classified Hourly Rate
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent plus 60 college credit hours or pass the Praxis Paraprofessional Test. Ability to interact with small groups of students. The ability to interpret and implement lesson plans. Familiarity with basic audio/visual equipment. Continuing education and training:
Current substitute certification required to stay current with required PTSB credits. Complete Criminal Justice Fingerprinting and Background Clearance.
Duties Shall Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Assist in planning and carrying out the instructional program for all students.
- Assist in teaching classes under the direction of a certified staff member and administering assessments.
- Participate in district staff development and in-service programs as required.
- Act as individual and small group tutor.
- Assist with maintenance of discipline and order in accordance with school district and building policies.
- Assist with such daily activities as clerical support, record keeping, supply and material organization, playground, and other supervisory duties.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the school principal.
- Monitor individuals or groups of students in a variety of settings to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
- Uphold district policies and procedures.
Work Days:
Determined by Superintendent.
Physical Requirements:
Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials, stooping, bending and reaching, climbing stairs and use a small stepladder.
