Job Title:
SKI/SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTOR Rate of Pay: $17-$34 per hour base rate, depending on level Shift: Part-time: minimum of 3 days a week plus occasional Sundays, 9:00 AM-4:30 PM
4 to 5 days per week including occasional Sundays preferred

The Ski/Snowboard Instructor is responsible for creating and fun, safe and exciting learning experience for the guest by providing technical ski/snowboard coaching and knowledge, while accurately and positively representing Sundance. Effectively represent the Sundance Snow sports' Brand, including Home Base and The Cycle of Learning, ensuring that it stands for fun, simplicity with a depth of performance and a safe learning environment.
Uphold Sundance's zero tolerance standard for sexual abuse and molestation by following protocols to protect students from inappropriate behavior by staff members, guests, and other students.
Accomplish all duties listed to teach Level 5 Students and transition to teaching Level 6. (For skiing, this represents the transition from wedge Christy to beginning parallel, comfortably managed by the student on green to blue terrain.)
Zone I:Accomplish all duties listed to teach Level 6 Students. (For skiing this represents the beginning parallel to intermediate parallel levels, comfortably managed on Blue terrain.) PSIA/AASI Level 1 Certification highly recommended for Zone One.
Zone II:Accomplish all duties listed to teach Level 8 Students. (For skiing, this represents the parallel to dynamic parallel levels, effectively managed on most terrain, including Black levels of terrain and snow conditions.) PSIA/AASI Level 2 Certification highly recommended for Zone Two, Level 1 certification required. Zone Two instructors begin to develop peer Apprentice and Zone One teaching skills and may be assigned as needed.
For Zone Two, the terrain choices, speed and snow conditions include some black level terrain.
Accomplish all duties listed to teach Level 9 Students. (For skiing, this represents the dynamic parallel levels, effectively managed on all terrain, including Black levels occasionally double Black diamond terrain and snow conditions.) PSIA/AASI Level 2 or 3 Certification required for Zone Three. Zone Three instructors teach as assigned, peer
- Apprentice, Zone One and Zone Two teaching, skiing/snowboarding skills and many other traits that add to continued development of professional Snow sports skills. Zone Three instructors model the best in the Sundance Brand
- Home Base and the Cycle of Learning. For Zone Three, the terrain choices, speed and snow conditions may involve all safely opened terrain and snow conditions.
- Model and teach "Your Responsibility Code".
- Attend all required training and show strong professional commitment by attending at least 75% of all available training when work schedule and teaching assignments allow.
- Maintain a high level of professional communication with Snow sports' leadership, always responding to on-going changes, meeting points and responding to all verbal, written and email communications in a timely manner and as directed. Maintain a professional level of communication with peers, leadership and guests, displaying an effective and positive manner of speech, seeking to make operations, teaching and other professional needs better.
