The Reviewing Official is a site-based position that reports directly to the Security Programs Supervisor.
The focus of this role is to administer the Access Authorization, Fitness for Duty, and Safeguards programs.
Review all Access Authorization inputs and determine if the individual meets the requirements to be granted access to the site. Administer drug and alcohol testing. Review backgrounds and determine if the individual should be granted access to Safeguards information. This position will also support the Security Programs Supervisor in developing and implementing the access authorization and fitness for duty programs for construction phase and operating phase.
Responsibilities- Responsible for implementing the Access Authorization, Fitness for Duty, and Safeguards program in accordance with site procedures and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations.
- Responsible for the review of all elements required for individuals applying for unescorted access/access or to safeguards, such as Personal History Questionnaires, completed background investigations, psychological evaluations, fingerprint reports including criminal history records on file with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and drug and alcohol test results.
- Interface with law enforcement agencies, judicial systems, and office of public record to provide official documentation. Conduct investigations if necessary for any discrepancies to complete trustworthiness and reliability determinations.
- Conduct interviews with applicants and make decisions to deny access or proceed with the request for Unescorted Access and/or access to Safeguards.
- Provide training assistance to other Reviewing Officials
- Support inspections, audits, and self-assessments of the programs
- Maintains and stores FFD, AA, and SGI records in accordance with site procedures and the regulatory requirements
