Commissioning Engineer

The Commissioning Engineer reports to the USO Commissioning Manager and is focused on the integrated design, commissioning, and operation of plant systems, structures and integrated analysis of the facility with a focus on Commissioning plan and product development. This Commissioning Engineer position requires a high potential individual who will focus on nuclear island commissioning and plant operations related aspects of the Natrium Demonstration Plant being developed including scheduling, planning, and testing product development.

The successful candidate will coordinate with engineers and project management professionals working on systems, components, engineering analysis, test planning, and scheduling in areas such as plant design, plant commissioning, and execution schedule development. The Commissioning Engineer will work as part of a high-performing team of engineers, operators, and project managers.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for coordinating geographically diverse design and commissioning team members to develop supporting design and testing documentation. The team is composed of Terra Power employees, subcontracted resources, partner employees, and customers.
  • Develop and implement commissioning administrative programs and procedures.
  • Develop and coordinate the creation of an integrated nuclear plant commissioning schedule across multiple organizations.
  • Support the develop, maintenance, and refinement of plant level and system level requirements, specifications, and strategy documents related to commissioning, plant operations and maintenance activities over the lifecycle of a nuclear facility
  • Develop and lead commissioning and design efforts to evaluate plant integrated control and transient event responses and provide recommendations/optimizations to deliver efficient plant operational strategies to influence design.
  • Support teammates and contractors in the plant development efforts through oversight and interface activities.
  • Support continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices to maintain the highest quality of engineering design and proactively identify process change/enhancement opportunities.
  • Support licensing activities associated with Safety Analysis Reports.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of commissioning programs, processes, and procedures to ensure testing meets design criteria.
