Location: Sundance
The Wyoming Department of Transportation seeks a Principal Engineer for its Construction Program in Sundance, Wyoming, to oversee all aspects of highway construction and contract administration from design through project finalization. The role includes managing bridge, interstate, state highway, county road, and city street projects while supervising a crew of technicians and engineers. The successful candidate will coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure projects are completed safely and on time.
Keyqualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required at time of hire (Wyoming PE required within one year)
- 2-4 years of progressive engineering work experience at the Project Engineer level
- Knowledge of highway geometrics, hydraulic design, soil engineering, and construction practices
- Ability to effectively communicate and provide direction to engineers and technicians
