Overview
Director of Finance to lead our finance and accounting organization and serve as a strategic partner to the executive team. This role is ideal for a hands-on, people-focused finance leader who thrives in a capital-intensive, highly regulated telecom environment and enjoys building strong teams while owning the numbers.
Responsibilities- Lead & Develop the Finance Organization:
Create, lead, and maintain a high-performing accounting and finance team; coach, mentor, and develop team members; establish scalable processes, structure, and accountability across the finance function; foster a culture of accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement. - Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning; analyze complex revenue streams; deliver clear, actionable insights tied to key performance metrics. - Strategic Decision Support:
Partner with executives to guide major investment decisions, including network expansion and 5G/6G initiatives; support mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships through financial evaluation and modeling; translate financial data into clear recommendations for leadership and the Board. - Cost Management & Margin Optimization:
Monitor and manage operational costs including network maintenance, licensing, infrastructure; drive efficiency initiatives and margin improvement. - Reporting, Compliance & Governance:
Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP/IFRS; oversee audits and maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FCC); strengthen internal controls and financial governance. - Capital Allocation:
Manage significant capital expenditures (Cap Ex) including towers, fiber networks, and equipment; evaluate and optimize ROI for major capital projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required; CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
- 8-15+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting.
- Prior experience in telecommunications, technology, or infrastructure-heavy industries preferred.
- Proven experience leading and developing finance and accounting teams.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills.
- Deep understanding of telecom economics and pricing models.
- Experience tracking and analyzing KPIs such as ARPU, churn, CAC, and margin.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen.
- Confident communicator capable of influencing senior leaders.
