Dietary Lead

Dietary Supervisor Status: Non-Exempt
Location: Crook County Medical Services District
POSITION SUMMARYThe Dietary Lead is responsible for assisting the Dietary department leadership in all trainings, inventory, ordering and staff needs as assigned by the Dietary Supervisor. The Dietary Lead is responsible for assisting in planning and ensuring high quality delivery of all facility dietary services and staff competencies. This position will require an ability to work effectively with other departments to help plan services that will maintain or enhance quality of life based on the resident's individual needs and interests.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
:
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and snacks according to established menus and dietary guidelines for patients/residents.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including food storage areas and kitchen equipment.
- Coordinate with the Registered Dietitian and Dietary Supervisor to plan all meals for the facility.
- Collaborate with the Dietary Supervisor and Registered Dietitian to understand patient dietary needs and preferences.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation standards.
- Coordinate with the Dietary supervisor to develop staff training documentation and courses to promote resource retainment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding dietary options and restrictions.
- Assist with staff scheduling and covering any open shifts as necessary.
- Participate in and contribute as lead in staff meetings to enhance knowledge and skills related to dietary services.
Education
- Certified Dietary Manager certification is preferred
- Certification in food safety and sanitation
- Experience with menu planning and nutrition documentation
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Previous experience in a dietary or food service role, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Understanding of basic nutrition principles and dietary restrictions
- Competent in Microsoft office suite
- Excellent communication skills with staff and management
