Summary

While upholding the Star Valley Health mission, vision and values this key position is responsible for assisting therapists administer to patients. They assist with the preparation of patients for their therapy sessions. Aides should keep the treatment area organized, stocked and clean. They are also responsible for clerical tasks such as answering phones, admitting patients, ordering supplies, documenting patient interaction, filling out insurance documents and completing other paperwork when necessary.

This is an at will position.

Job Duties
  • Confer with therapy staff and others to discuss and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment
  • Observe patients during treatment to compile and evaluate data on patients’ responses, progress, and report to therapist
  • Instruct, motivate, safeguard and assist patients practicing exercises and functional activities, under direction of medical staff
  • Administer active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, and heat, light, sound, water, and electrical modality treatments, such as ultrasound
  • Measure body parts, and take vital signs to determine effects of treatments or for patient evaluations
  • Record treatment given, equipment used, and interactions with patients in medical records
  • Keep a clean, organize work area and disinfect equipment after each treatment
  • Perform clerical duties, such as taking inventory, ordering supplies, answering telephone, taking messages, and filling out forms
  • Attend training and meetings as scheduled and to keep up skills
  • Perform other duties and tasks as needed arise or delegated
Requirements Abilities & Skills
  • Professional oral and written communication
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Internet
  • Multi-tasking skills with the ease of changing directions upon request and need
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, communicate effectively, and demonstrate sensitivity to clients, visitors and staff
  • Strong organizational and prioritization aptitude
  • Comply with HIPAA and other federal, state and local regulations, as well, as maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in client and staff matters
  • Position requires constant standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling with computer use
Experience & Education
  • High School diploma, or GED required; college education desired
  • General health care work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, and treatment of patients
