The CT Technologist performs diagnostic computed tomography procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and management of patient conditions. This position operates CT imaging equipment, ensures high-quality diagnostic images, maintains patient safety and comfort, and follows all radiation safety and regulatory standards. The technologist is responsible for accurate documentation, communication, and compliance with departmental protocols and quality assurance requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performing CT imaging procedures using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Preparing and positioning patients correctly for CT examinations.
  • Utilizing hospital systems including HIS, RIS, and PACS for patient and imaging management.
  • Verifying physician orders and confirming the correct procedure before imaging.
  • Explaining CT procedures to patients and answering questions to ensure understanding and comfort.
  • Maintaining patient privacy, dignity, and modesty at all times.
  • Demonstrating strict adherence to patient safety and radiation protection standards.
  • Administering contrast agents safely and documenting administration as required.
  • Accurately transcribing physician orders and scheduling appointments.
  • Ensuring accurate transmission of imaging results, reports, and communications.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting of imaging procedures.
  • Completing required maintenance and quality control documentation for CT equipment.

Additional duties may be assigned to support departmental operations and quality improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Graduate from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program or equivalent, as determined by the Director.
  • Be registered or registry-eligible with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Maintain a current Wyoming Diagnostic Imaging License
    .
  • Be certified or registry-eligible in Computed Tomography (CT) through ARRT.
  • Optionally hold registry or registry eligibility with:
    • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
    • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNMT)
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills when interacting with patients and the public.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Maintain proficiency in computer applications including:
    • Word processing
    • Spreadsheets
    • Database systems
    • Presentation software
    • Project documentation
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret appropriate journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write policies and procedures that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to modify care based on the developmental / functional age of the patient as well as that of the patient's ethnic background.
